Personal Photography Projects

Personal projects give me the freedom to follow stories that interest me without assigned boundaries. Created across the globe, these ongoing bodies of work explore the people, traditions, landscapes, and subtle details that shape my curiosities. Some begin with a place, others with a question that refuses to go away. Working without a predetermined shot list allows me to invest time and make photographs that emerge through observation rather than expectation.

This slower approach has taken me from Japan to Bhutan, Ethiopia, and the American South, but geography is rarely the starting point. I’m more interested in what a place reveals through its people, rituals, work, and ordinary moments. These projects sit somewhere between documentary, travel, and cultural photography, and they continue to shape the way I approach commissioned editorial, hospitality, and commercial work. They are, ultimately, the stories I find myself wanting to understand even when nobody has asked me to.
