I’m Andy, a Tokyo-based editorial and commercial photographer working throughout Japan and beyond.
Originally from the American South, I moved abroad in 2009 for what was supposed to be a two-year adventure. While I've spent much of the last seventeen years living and working in some of Asia's largest cities, I'm still a country boy at heart, more comfortable barefoot in a creek than in a skyscraper. That perspective continues to shape my work, drawing me toward the people, landscapes, and small details that make a place feel alive.
After nearly two decades living and working throughout Asia, I've come to believe that the most compelling stories rarely begin with the destination itself, but with the people who shape it. Whether working on an editorial assignment or a commercial campaign, I aim to create photographs that feel authentic, thoughtful, and rooted in the people and places they depict.
Whether you need hospitality photography, editorial storytelling, environmental portraits, or imagery for a larger campaign, I'd love to hear about your project. Feel free to explore examples of my commissioned work, personal projects, or photo journal. If my work feels like a good fit, get in touch.
