I’m Andy, an American photographer based in Tokyo. I photograph people, places, food, and the spaces in between, mostly for brands, publications, and clients who want something more than a generically polished postcard.
I’ve lived in Asia for nearly two decades, and Japan has been home since 2015. The time has given me an enduring fascination with the ordinary. Neighborhood before breakfasts. A chef working through a busy service. An aging shop on a disappearing street. Landscapes that looks nothing like the brochures. I’m interested in the character of a places and the details you notice when you slow down and pay attention.

I’m a country boy at heart, more comfortable barefoot in a creek than in a skyscraper. I still like getting a little lost, talking to strangers, eating whatever someone puts in front of me, and seeing where a story goes when you stop trying to control it.
