Commissioned Commercial & Editorial Projects

I’m a Tokyo-based editorial and commercial photographer working throughout Japan, Asia, and beyond for publications, hotels, brands, and organizations. Sophisticated and distinct, my commissioned work spans travel, hospitality, food, portraiture, and cultural storytelling, with clients including The New York Times, WIRED, The Wall Street Journal, Travel + Leisure, and Virtuoso, as well as Four Seasons, Ritz-Carlton, Waldorf Astoria, Hugo Boss, and others. Whether photographing a chef in a Kyoto kitchen, a craftsman in a workshop, a hotel in Tokyo, or a larger destination story, I approach each assignment with a documentary sensibility, creating photographs that capture what it feels like to be with people and in places.

Living and working in Japan has allowed me to develop a deep familiarity with the country beyond its most recognizable destinations, from major cities and luxury properties to rural communities, traditional industries, and the people who keep them alive. For editorial clients, I bring a curious, story-driven approach to travel and cultural assignments; for commercial and hospitality clients, I create polished imagery without losing the character and humanity of the people and places being photographed.
